As part of its efforts to modernize its infrastructure and improve its operating environment, Arla Foods Limited embarked on a comprehensive renovation project for its factory in Riyadh’s Second Industrial City. The project was fully executed by AKA Contracting Company, which managed the project for nine months, meticulously implementing a wide range of works that combined demolition, reconstruction, and urban and technical development.
Scope of work and services provided:
- ○ Demolishing old buildings and constructing entirely new warehouses
- ○ Removal and construction of 500 linear meters of factory wall
- ○ Restoration of the old wall and comprehensive painting works
- ○ Construction of a modern wall with comprehensive lighting for the factory streets
- ○ Integrated asphalt works with ground markings within the site
- ○ Firefighting system qualification, including: ■ Building a new water tank ■ Renewal of water lines and fire network
- ○ Design and construction of two new entry and exit gates
- ○ Establishing a 7 km fiber optic data network with modern surveillance cameras
- ○ Planting 100 palm trees and developing green spaces and urban landscaping paths
Results and assessment:
The project resulted in a comprehensive transformation of the factory’s infrastructure and operational functions, making the site more efficient and sustainable, while enhancing safety, security, and connectivity standards. The project was widely praised by Arla’s management for being delivered on time and to exacting specifications.
