We completed a comprehensive renovation and redevelopment project for Arla Foods Limited in Riyadh’s Second Industrial City, transforming the existing factory into a modern, efficient, and sustainable industrial site.
Over a nine-month period, AKA Contracting executed a full scope of works that included demolition, reconstruction, and infrastructure upgrades, resulting in a complete revitalization of the facility.
The project covered the construction of new warehouses and boundary walls, renewal of fire systems with a new water tank and network, installation of a 7 km fiber optic data system with surveillance, and development of landscaped green areas with over 100 palm trees.
Delivered on schedule and to the highest technical standards, this project reflects AKA Contracting’s expertise in large-scale renovation and modernization projects, ensuring enhanced safety, efficiency, and long-term operational performance for one of the Kingdom’s leading food manufacturers.
Scope of work and services provided:
- ○ Demolishing old buildings and constructing entirely new warehouses
- ○ Removal and construction of 500 linear meters of factory wall
- ○ Restoration of the old wall and comprehensive painting works
- ○ Construction of a modern wall with comprehensive lighting for the factory streets
- ○ Integrated asphalt works with ground markings within the site
- ○ Firefighting system qualification, including: ■ Building a new water tank ■ Renewal of water lines and fire network
- ○ Design and construction of two new entry and exit gates
- ○ Establishing a 7 km fiber optic data network with modern surveillance cameras
- ○ Planting 100 palm trees and developing green spaces and urban landscaping paths
Results and assessment:
The project resulted in a comprehensive transformation of the factory’s infrastructure and operational functions, making the site more efficient and sustainable, while enhancing safety, security, and connectivity standards. The project was widely praised by Arla’s management for being delivered on time and to exacting specifications.
